Concentrated and Intensifying Humid Heat Extremes in the IPCC AR6 Regions

چکیده
Extreme humid heat events have seen rapid increases globally in recent decades, but regional changes and higher-order temporal characteristics, such as interannual intra-annual clustering, not been widely explored. Using ERA5 reanalysis data from 1979 to 2019, we find increasing trends of varying magnitudes extreme wet-bulb temperatures at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Sixth Assessment Report (IPCC AR6) scale. In many locations, variations extremes show a strong relationship with El Niño-Southern Oscillation. The proximity precipitation days arid regions suggests that local moisture effects may lead clustering. Knowledge these spatial patterns aids understanding how potential stress is increasing, well facilitates development regionally specific adaptation mitigation strategies for combating associated societal impacts.

Techno-Economic Assessment of Heat Recovery in Series Condensers Arrangement: Hot and Humid Regions
A direct expansion (DX) HVAC system is an efficient way to supply fresh and dehumidified air to a built environment. To improve the efficiency of a conventional DX system in hot and humid regions, fresh air dehumidification and conditioning systems with energy recovery measures are the key equipment to reach such a goal. To achieve this goal an integrated system is proposed. The integrated syst...
متن کاملChanges in Temperature and Precipitation Extremes in the IPCC Ensemble of Global Coupled Model Simulations
Temperature and precipitation extremes and their potential future changes are evaluated in an ensemble of global coupled climate models participating in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) diagnostic exercise for the Fourth Assessment Report (AR4). Climate extremes are expressed in terms of 20-yr return values of annual extremes of near-surface temperature and 24-h precipitatio...
متن کاملConcentrated Heat Sources in the Heat Conducting Rod
The paper shall demonstrate how concentrated source terms can be included by Delta functions in models with distributed parameters and, moreover, that the abstraction of sharply concentrated quantities leads to decisive numeric advantages. The system of differential equations loses its stiffness here at the method of lines. The eigenvalues of the Jacobian matrix (A-matrix) show that it becomes ...
متن کاملExtreme heat and runoff extremes in the Swiss Alps
The hydrological response of Swiss river basins to the 2003 European summer heatwave was evaluated by a combined analysis of historical discharge records and specific applications of distributed hydrological modeling. In the summer of 2003, the discharge from headwater streams of the Swiss Central Plateau was only 40%–60% of the longterm average. For alpine basins runoff was about 60%–80% of th...
متن کاملClimate extremes and climate change: The Russian heat wave and other climate extremes of 2010
[1] A global perspective is developed on a number of high impact climate extremes in 2010 through diagnostic studies of the anomalies, diabatic heating, and global energy and water cycles that demonstrate relationships among variables and across events. Natural variability, especially ENSO, and global warming from human influences together resulted in very high sea surface temperatures (SSTs) i...
